This is my own PERSONAL review of BOOK.PUB. No-one else’s but my own and I have not been coerced in any way to wrote this review! I am discussing my very own experiences with BOOK.PUB. The reason for clarifying this point so strongly is revealed later in this review. A few weeks ago I placed a review about BOOK.PUB, a publishing company offering to publish work, at a fee. I said they were great to start with if the process was very slow with editing etc., but then got slower and slower and more difficult to deal with as soon as the book was ready for publication and changed to another department. BOOK.PUB strongly objected to my review and asked me either to amend it to a more glowing report and then give it 5 stars or take it down. Neither of which I had any intention of doing. It was a perfectly honest review as things stood at that stage. As if that first review wasn’t enough, having complained about the long waits for their responses, they exacerbated the problem even further by not replying often for days sometimes, when a speedy response was necessary. I have repeatedly complained about all the delays which simply got worse and worse, and BOOK.PUB then tried to say I had been slow responding to them when I had replied to pretty well every single message within a very short space of time, including getting book corrections back to them virtually by return. The book, which they originally agreed would be published in 5-6 weeks, has now been held up by them for 7 months because of their constant delays. I paid for and the agreement stated the book would be published on 5 platforms and finally, after a long wait, they managed to upload the book to Amazon KDP but didn’t even bother to let me know they had successfully done so until I contacted them again some days later asking what was happening. Then there was a further fiasco with them supposedly uploading to the other platforms I had been promised in the agreement. As if that wasn’t enough they then start issuing veiled threats as to what they will do if I don’t give a better review or amend that first one. I had a good experience with BOOK.PUB to start with, and editing and proof reading were excellent, if very slow. After that however things went rapidly downhill and became very heated with constant delays. Having finally told me they had published on the various other promised platforms, when I checked they hadn’t done so and the platforms confirmed they had received nothing from BOOK.PUB. I insisted they publish on the other promised platforms, as agreed, and to let me know when they had done so. Unfortunately they have refused do this, insisting their work was finished, and they would do nothing more unless I paid extra. Needless to say the whole thing came to a very sticky and unpleasant end and to also have veiled threats made against me for giving a bad review was simply insulting. I reported the whole matter to Trustpilot as no company should put pressure on a client to change a review just because the company found it unacceptable to them. One would have thought, if hoping for me to change a bad review, BOOK.PUB would have gone out of their way to make sure I was happy and satisfied with the work and the way they had dealt with it. Sadly just the opposite happened and it all became very unpleasant. In the end the book did appear on one other platform, even though again they couldn’t be bothered to let me know and left me to find out for myself. I am still not sure whether they ever published on all the others platforms. I would certainly never use BOOkPUB again or recommend them to anyone after what I have experienced. If BOOK.PUB don’t like this review, it is completely honest on my experience with the company and they should complain to Trustpilot and not to me. I wonder have other clients had bad experiences with this company and then had pressure brought to bear on them to change a bad review into something more acceptable to BOOK.PUB because I am sure Trustpilot would like to know? As I said to start, this is MY OWN HONEST and PERSONAL view based on my experience with BOOK.PUB. Perhaps other clients experienced better, but who knows?
