SCAM*****FRAUD***** If I could provide negative stars I would. Where do I start. These guys are of the upmost dishonest shady company in the US period. I'll start from the beginning. My parents are elderly. My dad is very ill with Parkinson's disease. My dad is a United States Navy, veteran. My mother has the early stages of dementia. We moved them to my property, so my wife and I could help with their conditions. We saw a tv show that had a container home from Bobs Containers. We called them up and a few weeks later, we sent them roughly 50k. The very next day before they even started the build we canceled the build after consulting the floor plan with my dads doctors we all agreed this was not the best fit. Bobs containers agreed with a signed contract stating they would return the money. Well that was about a year ago. They have not returned a penny. So I guess it is Bob Balderas the owners directive to his staff to rip elderly sick people off for their savings. I know this review will be removed because I am not an avid reviewer. Well I will keep reposting because this is the truth and I do not want to see ANYONE else get scammed like my family did. If you have had the same or similar experience please feel free to contact me Thank you for reading this lengthy review.
Response from Bob's ContainersJun 26, 2026
We’re truly sorry for the hardship your family experienced. We hear how personal and upsetting this situation is.
Prior ownership is no longer part of our entity, and Bob Balderas is not involved with the current Bob’s Containers team. While we cannot provide direct refunds for payments made under prior ownership, we are reviewing legacy customer files and may be able to offer credit of up to 50% toward a new build where appropriate.
Please contact our current team with your documentation so we can review the file directly and see what options may be available.

These people are crooks
These people are crooks. I have a 85k judgment against them for breach of contract. I also have been contacted by someone else with the same problem.

PONZI SCHEME!!
PONZI SCHEME!!! They stole my money for a build, so I have been reaching out to current and previous customers and employees and have come to several conclusions.
They are using old clients money to pay for new project's builds. They are lying to new customers, clients, and investors. They cannot even afford to process regular payroll. It is expected that the company go under shortly, especially after suspected fraud.
Also, they are paying under minimum wage for international outsourced employees. They are living in storage containers with no running water on the site. This company is COMPLETELY unethical.
The only way to get your money back is to hire a lawyer, and they have several active lawsuits so good luck.
STRONG REC TO NOT USE.

This is a long review but thorough
This is a long review but thorough. I promised the company I would give an honest review so here it is.
Let me start by saying this has been the most dreadful and unprofessional process from start to finish. Coupled with a severe lack of communication and unaccountability. Ive felt like a transaction the whole time, not a relationship.
I started this process in March, and made my deposit in early April, I was originally told 6-8 weeks to complete, then 8-10, then 12+. Silence for weeks. On May 2nd, I was told the build would start soon to pick my finishes. I never received communication or updates on CoConstruct (the platform to track the build for owners). In Early June, I reached out to find out that they had not started the process and no one could provide a clear answer to why. In addition, the team I was to work with now was all brand new, and my build had “fallen through the cracks”. New Director, new PM, and no containers were available for a build. I, not them, provided options in lieu of my original build such as purchasing others models that financing fell through, welding 2-20 ft together, etc. Nothing was available, I asked for a refund which they quickly told me no that I had signed a contract and was locked in. I fought it for a few weeks until I posted a review and got the owner to agree to a meeting and he promised a delivered build on July 15. He missed the deadline by 6 days still. I should have cancelled but didn’t. I asked for some form of discount/free delivery for missing the deadline, they built me a deck to cover the week which was three ft less than I asked for but at that point I was over it, and waited for the build. Could not do a walkthrough because the new director was out of town, when we finally did it, I was pleased with the build, he promised a delivery of Wednesday. I drove out and waited 2 extra days for the conex to arrive because they couldn’t find a truck that could carry the weight (mind you they do this everyday). I sat with furniture in the yard for 2 days.
This is all after I received a threatening letter that they would put a lien on my property if the bill wasn’t paid, THIS WAS ON JULY 6TH, before they even finished.
I sent pictures and described my terrain and orientation of cones for delivery. It showed up facing backwards, and the delivery guy destroyed my driveway. The neighbor and I spent hours getting him in and out of the mess he created. I understand the conex was heavy but when he couldn’t get it straight several times, with no 4wd, he buried himself. The company blamed me for not having a sufficient driveway when I have drove on this 100’s of times with trailers and never had a problem. Had a dump truck literally bring in yards of fill and base for the pad because the county requires it to be 18” above grade. From 5 pm til 11 pm we worked to get him out and unstuck. When I wrote the “director” it was my fault….
Every time I called or text or emailed it would take me repeated attempts to get a response. The new “director” in my opinion is too new to understand the process, his authority, and make any promises he can fulfill, I lost faith in him in the very beginning when he couldn’t answer my questions. Daniel however seems better suited for that role and was the only reason I conintued on, he listened, tried to make things right, and was the only one who understands customer service. They have repeated let me down.
In a honest review the build looks like it was finished well, however the ac arrived loose and the floor appears to be warping.
It’s been hell to get ahold of the owner again, emails go unanswered, I’ve offered my cell phone, but nothing. I set a meeting on his calendar which I missed cause I couldn’t get logged into his calendar app for some reason. Responded to his email instantly to call me but again nothing. Silence. You are on his time and he could care less I feel.
I’ve never received a discount, free delivery, concession of any kind. NOTHING! They got their money and I was the one faced with all the pain of their shortcomings. I’ve lost a whole summer of rent on broken promises.
I don’t doubt some builds go smooth and others can be tougher but the shear lack of accountability, customer focus, disregard for my time, money, and resources, and pointed fingers to everyone but they has made me upset. I can’t imagine how a warranty is going to go I will keep everyone updated. Proceed with caution and ensure you have deadlines, dates, and clear expectations or go elsewhere.
Response from Bob's ContainersJun 26, 2026
We’re sorry this process felt so difficult and one-sided. That is not the experience the current Bob’s Containers team wants customers to have.
Bob’s Containers is now under new ownership/management, and prior ownership is no longer part of our entity. We are working to improve communication, project tracking, delivery coordination, and warranty follow-through.
Please reach out to our current team with your project details, photos, and any remaining warranty concerns. We’d like to review the file and see what we can do to help.

STRONG REC TO NOT USE BOBS CONTAINERS…
STRONG REC TO NOT USE BOBS CONTAINERS TO BUILD YOUR HOME.
Shockingly poor experience that included a rep who was 20+ minutes late to our first ever phone call, with no notification, who went on to be unable to simply write a basic email, manipulated us into paying for a feasibility study that ended up being a week late... just to find out they never did it at all, wasting nearly a month of our building process, putting us behind.
Other issues of note:
- Quotes often thousands over other companies with no explanation
- Rude, ineffective and unintelligent representatives
- Horrific customer service that includes simply no response when questions asked about obvious failures on their part
- Dramatically overpriced, with no explanation
- Selling designs they've never produced
- Requiring up to an additional 5-10k, on top of the asking price, for any type of design to be used for permitting to actually use the unit on your property
- Unclear process that results in wasted time and scamming money
My husband and I were so astonished by the poor quality of this company. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself time, money, and effort and go to another builder. Pretty close to anyone else is better.

Holly,
After reviewing communication records we wanted to align the details of your project. From first contact to you sending a complaint was a total of 10 calendar days with the complaint coming 3 days after purchasing your feasibility study. Here is the direct timeline:

Tue, July 12 - Permitting Consultation
Wed, July 13- Permitting Feasibility Purchased
Sat, July 16 - Complaint Email Sent to Bob’s Containers
Mon, July 18 - Manager Follow-Up
Thur, July 21- Refund
Mon, July 25- Manager Follow-Up
"Shockingly poor experience that included a rep who was 20+ minutes late to our first ever phone call, with no notification…"
Your container tech was 18 minutes late to the meeting and sent an email draft by mistake. Our software sent a partial quote, this has been resolved. We are surprised you view a feasibility study as “manipulation” since every HOA, county, city, and state has different rules and regulations regarding manufactured homes and this was all communicated with you. This can be an easy process, but some require more work with needs for MEP, structural, elevations, and much more. That being said, a client of Bob’s Containers can do their own feasibility research which you were told during your free permitting consultation. The study was not late. It was refunded less than a week after receiving no response from you.
"Quotes often thousands over other companies with no explanation"
We pride ourselves on our pricing transparency. Every product has clear and upfront pricing on our website. Most other container home manufacturers do not. We are often lower in price compared to others. Pricing transparency is the cornerstone of our company.
"Rude, ineffective and unintelligent representatives"
We record every call and have reviewed every interaction you had with Bob’s Containers. Our container tech may have been ineffective, but he was certainly not rude.
"Horrific customer service that includes simply no response…"
Management stepped in to respond on Monday after being alerted to the issue on a Saturday. You never responded to any of our communication after this point, so while we are willing to listen to your concerns with our service, it seems you were never willing to communicate these failures with management.
"Selling designs they've never produced"
We are one of the few container manufacturers that sells products we have built. We do have conceptual ideas we are working on and our wonderful customers bring us incredible ideas all the time. Each product has photos of real builds from real Bob’s Containers clients.
"Requiring up to an addition 5-10k, on top of asking price, for any type of design to be used for permitting to actually use the unit on your property"
This is not required, Bob’s Containers is a manufacturer. We offer white glove permitting that ranges in cost depending on HOA, county, city, and state regulations regarding homes. All that being said, it is entirely possible for a client of Bob’s Containers to do their own permitting submissions.
"Unclear process that results in wasted time and scamming money"
Every step, detail, price, and upgrade possible for your build is listed clearly on our website, as well as on any estimates or invoices generated by our team. Transparency and clarity are as important to us as they are to our customers. All money paid to Bob's Containers has been refunded.
In the end, we understand the areas we could have improved our communication and follow-up, but it seems it was always going to be tough to hit your expected timelines and some of your concerns above are outright lies. Pricing transparency and the way we quote have always garnered positive feedback from our customers and we hope those reading this will give us the chance to prove our services are not only effective but transparent and educative through the whole process.
