⭐️ Very disappointing experience We booked a property managed by BnB My Place specifically because of its close proximity to the hospital where my father was scheduled to have surgery. Unfortunately, shortly before the trip, he developed a painful infection and his surgeon determined that it was unsafe to proceed. His surgery was postponed and will now need to be rescheduled in 6–8 weeks. As soon as we learned this, I contacted BnB My Place to explain the situation. BnB My Placesaid the cancellation and refund was up to Airbnb customer service. However, Airbnb then directed me back to BnB My Place who did not respond to my message for over 2 days. At which point BnB My Place declined my request for a refund. What was most disappointing to me was the complete lack of flexibility or compassion given the circumstances. We ultimately paid approximately $700 for accommodations we were unable to use, and the host was unwilling to offer a refund or credit that could have been applied when we return for my father's rescheduled surgery. On top of that, when I left a review on Airbnb, the host requested my review be taken down. I'm sharing this experience so future clients can make an informed decision about the level of flexibility and regard for customer service.

We are sorry to hear about your father’s infection and the postponement of his surgery. We hope his rescheduled procedure goes well and wish him a speedy recovery. As you noted, we follow the set Airbnb policies for stay cancellations. Guests may need to adjust or cancel a booking for many reasons, which is why every property we manage has a clear cancellation policy displayed at the time of booking. We then process cancellations through Airbnb under that policy, and we follow it along with Airbnb’s terms, as they are the rental platform. We are also sorry your request went two days without a reply. We escalated it to Airbnb and waited for their response before getting back to you, but we should have told you at the time rather than leaving you without an update while we waited. These people are criminals who have hijacked my property and have not paid me terminating my agreement for alleged threatening emails which is ludicrous. They have gone to my soon to be ex wife to continue their illegal management even though she’s not on the mortgage or deed as she was only added to the title under duress of her divorcing me. Alec Mitchell and crew have taken every penny of the rental income and not paid me anything! Avoid this company at all costs and ignore the reply that they will try to spin!
