Natural Health Options Can Keep You From Getting Sick
When you get sick you have more options than chemical filled medications. All you need to do is take the right steps to stay healthy and you can keep germs from invading altogether. Obviously sometimes, even if you do everything right, you get sick anyway and without any warning start feeling like the people you see awake all night in the cold and flu medication ads on television. Resist the urge to take medication that will do little more than put you to sleep. It feels like a viable option but there are healthier ways for you to get over your illness and feel better. Nature has come up with plenty of ways to help humans deal with cold and flu symptoms and to heal from them entirely. Here are natural remedies you can try. In case you're interested, a super way to eat those tasty fruits and vegetables is making healthy green smoothies with a Vita Mix blender. The Vita Mix 5200 is our favorite. Water is the best. You already know that you need to drink six to eight glasses of water a day to stay healthy but water can be used for more than simple refreshment. There is more to headache relief than simply taking some aspirin or ibuprofen-water is also a fantastic headache combatant. A lot of people get headaches because they are not properly hydrated. Instead of waiting a long time for the drugs to take effect, drinking a glass of water will help you feel better in just a few minutes. While water is great for hydration it is great for other things too. Breaking fevers is usually done by having someone sit in a hot bath with a cool compress on their heads. The heat of the water in a hot bath will make you start sweating, which is what will help break your fever (and it will relax your muscles as well). Your body uses sweat to keep its temperature even and to bring down fevers when they happen. Did you know that there is a right way and a wrong way to blow your nose? Blowing your nose correctly is important because if you don't you might stay sick for much longer than you have to. The best way to blow your nose is to blow gently through one nostril at a time. Be gentle! You could damage the sensitive tissues inside your nose. Not blowing gently could cause your ears to ache. It doesn't take long to get used to blowing your nose, even if you hate doing it now. If you only sniff the sinus discharge back into your nose you will only succeed in keeping yourself sick. Washing your hands after you blow your nose is a must! Echinacea has been a popular natural health item for more than a decade now. As soon as you start to feel a cold or flu hit you, take some Echinacea so that it will do its job. If you take Echinacea as soon as you feel symptomatic you could keep the cold from taking hold at all. Echinacea can even help you when you're already well into your cold by making your symptoms weaker and speeding up your healing process. Taking approximately 1200 mgs a day while you're ill will help you heal. To get the right dosage (taking all 1200 mgs will make you sick) take 400mg supplements three times per day. There is no law that forces you to choose over the counter medication if you catch the flu. Why not choose from the natural health cures that you have filling your kitchen already? Why waste a bunch of time and money that can be better spent elsewhere? Natural health cures are better for you! Last but not least, don't forget to look at our Vita Mix review.
