Dear Jeff, It is not necessary to wait to use your product, you can just as easily heat your car before use so that the interior is warm when activating the product, this will give the gas the opportunity to generate and expand properly to do it's thing. Depending on the type of odor you are fighting, you may not need to leave it in for 24 hours, however, if it is cigarette smoke odor you will need to leave it in overnight. Also, using a space heater in the garage while the product is working, can also help.
