I think the method can work well. The first few classes are tough because there is no English and you can't understand any of the new language yet but it is effective over time. I also had an excellent teacher. The problem is the materials. Oh my lord. In an age with gamification and apps, the materials are unclear and they look like they have been pulled from a 1996 textbook. It's difficult to even understand how the exercises fit together (target A/B).

*Update* - I've received my refund now. They were pretty motivated to help after I left this review. And it should have never had to come to that. I appreciate that it's been resolved though. I'd advise others to use caution before enrolling. I signed up for the Berlitz Connect French, and was really excited about it. They had no problem with taking my money right away. But then it took a full week (with my constantly checking in) to obtain my log in and access to the program. Once I obtained my information, I tried accessing the website and it barely works. Every page was taking a full 1-3 minutes to load. There are security risks (they still use flash and they emailed me a username and password). And for the 1-on-1 sessions, you can only do them by phone or skype. No option for zoom or hangout, etc. I immediately requested a refund and to cancel. Which resulted in my receiving several emails where they tried to talk me out of it. And now they're refusing to proceed with the refund until I speak with someone over the phone "to have it explained to me". This whole experience has been a nightmare and I feel like I've just been scammed out of my money.

My son, didn't really learn much from his experience, so we are a little disappointed. Also, when I saw that he didn't like to attend anymore I was told that it was too late to stop classes, because he was over halfway done. This is a little inflexible for kids. Our instructor was very nice and helpful, the format didn't work for my son and when I discovered this, Berlitz was inflexible to change.

Do not recommend unless you have a little background in Spanish already. Homework did not make sense. It would say I had wrong answers, and I would ask the instructor, and they said they were right. I did not like the exercises (you had to just guess on some of them. I even have a full-time Spanish speaking employee, and he was confused) I don’t like that I felt rushed and sometimes we would move along when I did not understand fully because we had to stay on track of the course. Berlitz did not have my email or even name right, therefore, I was not getting correspondence.

The course and instruction method or cryers that the student already have a good grasp of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. The instructors or at least mine was not able to answer any questions on how to properly use grammar or how to properly use different verb tenses beyond the basic present past and future. On the positive Note the instructor was able to help me and assist me and participate with me in conversations and improve my conversation ability which will be a very useful skill.

No customer service! Lost my scheduling due to the fact that they lost their location!! Very unprofessional. Not worth the money!!

The digital aspect of Berlitz is appalling as we approach 2020. There is no homework. There is no way to practice listening to what I have learned. I have had to supplement Berlitz with Pimsleur. The only thing good about Berlitz is my teacher coming to my office.
