Great experience
I am in the healthcare field and was a very reluctant to go to Mexico for surgery. It was the best decision and wish I would have done this years earlier. Mexico healthcare system is much different than the states but not in a bad way. Physicians are much more "hands-on" and do everything from taking x-rays to surgery. The bariatric surgeons arrived at the hospital at 5am and often I saw them 8-9 at night. All the physicians spoke very good English and were excellent communicators. Nursing is not like the states and would compare them to a CNA. Nurses did not speak English for the most part but were helpful (that was probably my only frustration). Be-lite counselor had prepped me before I had the surgery so I knew walking would be the best thing so I walked and walked the hospital halls post surgery. I had little to no pain and therefore did not need pain Rx post discharge. Had the procedure on Thursday and was at work on Monday and never told anyone . The first 4 months were the most challenging in terms of introducing solids . It has been 11 months, I have lost almost 100lbs. I eat only organic non-processed food lots of protein, fruits and veggies. I drink a protein shake every morning (bone broth protein) and take my supplements daily . Had all my labs drawn and I am not low in anything with the exception of Vitamin D which I am taking mega doses right now. I have my life back, skiing, hiking and traveling .
