Grama C.
I am a Retired CCU Nurse who had a Band that went bad.It was 9yo.
I had been talking with JoAnne at Belightweight on and off for 5 years about revising it.Then it would calm down and I'd stay put.The Stigma of the Unknown Mexico always held me back-Once i got so sick from the restriction and swelling i dropped to 133#-My good weight is 156#.I thought I was dying-so weak and puny.!The Doc took all the fill out and after months of fluids and resting my belly-we started 1cc fills at a time-$150 each time-finally at 5.6cc it seemed ok-but i zoomed up to 172#.I was depressed -felt like a failure-didn t want to go out in public..i had started at 230# and was terrified of being "Fat Grama" again. My Esophagus was stressed and inflamed and once again they removed fill….warned me about it rupturing. So My Daughter urged me to go with Belightweight and fix myself once and for all.She went with me to ElPaso and on to Juarez.A good trip. What a SHOCK.! From the Airport on~ the one on one attention given to me was amazing.I weighed in at #178. The Hospital-Star Medica was Immaculate.! Someone was always able to speak English. After a chest xray and instruction sheet of english/spanish-and a meal my Dr Rod came -Dr Aramburo-a Dr of Psychology-our personal Coordinator -several nurses-my IV…I had the MOST Lovely Female Anesthesiologist visit-(could be a Model) and next morning went to pre op -everything was always explained to me-Nurses always told me the antibiotics-pain /anti-inflammatory meds-anti nausea meds they were giving me.I was scared to death Dr Rod wouldn t be able to do anything except remove my band. What an easy sleep after my"I don t care shot".I awoke in my room-without pain-Nurse was right there telling me i would get all of the above meds around the clock. And I would get up and walk in a few hours.Which I did.And I was Ecstatic to find He was able to clean up the scarring inside and do my Mini ByPass.! (And Three Drs did the Surgery.) I NEVER heard doors slamming -call lights going off-laughing or talking in the Halls-Never smelled cologne or smoke on the nurses.Which BTW were neat &clean & hair done up & professional but friendly.I NEVER had to ask for pain meds or towels or water or anything. They were always ahead of things.Always asking if I had pain or was nauseated. They did regular 8hr Vitals and accu checks and Temp.Checked my dressings and changed them when needed. I m so Impressed with the smoothness and efficiency of That Medical Center.Nurses wore Gloves at all times in the room-and Masks for close procedures.I didn t see the horrible waste that i ve experienced as a Nurse in The States.! Everyone did their jobs ,They were Awesome. I would strongly advise anyone considering surgery in Mexico to NOT hesitate as I did. At least with Dr Rod and Belightweight. It is totally safe with them. He has 10 Top ranked Surgeons on His Team and I know at least 7 of them visited me -some more than once and maybe more than 7.And I need to say the Dietician was well informed and easy to understand. As well as the associate who brought my "go home medicines" before I left! My Daughter and I agree it was really like a Vacation. And our Room was A+. I am 10 days post op and 11# down to 167#.I never had pain-just soreness-and the Dr told me to expect Left upper Quad pain if I stretched or turned.I am almost not a bit sore and on full liquids. I have NO hunger-NO heartburn. That in itself was worth the surgery.I ve suffered that forever ! I will be forever grateful. You can Believe what Belightweight team tells you.It isn t just the money for them. They love helping us fatties. JoAnne checked on me in the Hospital and Jamie-My coordinater-who never was far from the phone- for questions and always had time for me-called me when I got home to guide me through the Phases of my diet. And will again as I progress. I am not alone.YOU are not alone-They are Wonderful and I will sing their Praises to anyone who will listen.Thank you Thank you Thank you.
