We keep getting phone calls from this company claiming they want to finish our book, they have made this process an absolute nightmare, the male writers are misogynistic and talk condescendingly to my wife, overtalk you if they disagree with you, claim they have given our money back we gave them $5050 and they refunded $3500 and refuse to return the $1550 we had to file a complaint with the credit card company… do NOT use this company!!!

BARNES GHOSTWRITING is a total scam
BARNES GHOSTWRITING is a total scam! I do not believe a single five star review of this company is real. Here’s how they operate: They will agree to absolutely any terms you offer as long as they can get you to send them money. They will even promise you “guaranteed” number of sales (as the did me). They then assign a “Project Manager” who will wear you out with phone calls and ask you the same questions over and over. If they do anything it will be a generic piece of crap. Unrelated to your book. When you become downright frustrated with the P. M. they will assign you a new project manager who will take you through as much bs as you can stand. Like asking you over and over to identify your book. Which has the title at the top of the first page. They try to scam you for more money telling you you need three currency converters at $500 each. I had three (3) project managers. None did anything except string me along. When I complained I received a long diatribe about how “sorry” they were you are unhappy with being scammed.

NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY
In October 2023, I signed up for a 3-month marketing-only package for my book. Here we are 10 months later, and although there's an author website, and social media pages with postings, there are ZERO FOLLOWERS AND ZERO SALES. They have strung me along with excuse after excuse, such as "there's a new project manager, so things will be better" - that was in early May of 2024. I was assigned a new project manager in July 2024, saying the old one had been fired because she had never sent my project to the marketing department, and that I would soon see sales. Sales have never materiaized. I have repeatedly asked for a refund, but all I get is lengthy phone calls with upsell attempts. You can do much better than this company. BARNES GHOSTWRITING: REFUND ME!
Sept. 2024 update: Facebook page suddenly gained 2000 "followers" -- all located in Pakistan (while I could see them; now, of course, they are hidden). Still no ROI.
Nov. 2024 update: on 8/09/24, my project manager emailed me saying if they didn't sell 200 books for me in the next 90 days, they would issue a refund. They sold ZERO BOOKS, and have REFUSED TO ISSUE A REFUND. Instead, they tried to upsell me! I also requested an update to my written contract, which never came.
Jan. 2025 update: I received calls from BOTH of my previous project managers (yes, the same ones I was told were fired for not marketing my book), just checking in to see if I needed anything. These people really take the cake. You can imagine how angry I was. I told them both I wanted my promised refund (still zero sales); I was told I would hear back the following day - haven't heard from them since. I have never received control of the social media pages, now I'm left with the task of trying to take them down through reporting them to X, Facebook, and Instagram. Good luck on tyring to contact anyone at the latter two.
May 2025 update: I gave up on getting an updated contract (I think they knew I could use it to do a chargeback on my credit card). They have refused to take down the social media accounts that they created on my behalf, as have the social media platforms. So now there are social media accounts with my name on them that I can't control, competing with any real ones I may create. I have also given up on getting any kind of refund, or any sales (still zero). So, for my $1250, I ended up with about 30 beautiful social media images relevant to my book, which means each one cost me $41.66. I probably could have gotten each one on Fiverr for $5, and I could have done them myself.
If possible, I would give a rating of negative 5 on this company. Don't be drawn in with the flowery, professional confidence of the sales person (they get an A+ there).
Save your money. Save your sanity: STAY AWAY FROM BARNES GHOSTWRITING, AKA TEXONNA MARKETING.
However, IF you decide to try this company, offer them 1/3 of what they are asking for, make sure the contract they give you is complete (a definitive ROI promised, not just an "up to" ROI amount) and be sure to use a credit card that allows at least a 1-year period to do a charge reversal -- trust me, you will need to do just that.

unacceptable product
First version of my autobiography was horrible. It was poorly written with grammatical errors, misuse of words (was the author's first language english?) and factually incorrect statements. The 'tone' of the story was far for negative than I wanted. Also, the person who did the interview was not the author. They never told us someone else es going to do the writing. However, they refused to give me refund as their marketing touts and insisted and providing another version. They were late in their delivery and we had to go after then to get the rewrite. They actually provided 3 rewrites by 3 different authors (again, they did not tell us they were going to do this). Although these versions were better (it without have been hard to be worse) they were still, in my view, poorly written. We are now in the midget of further arguments over getting a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING SEND WO WILL BE DOING THE WRITING. THEY WILL ALSO FIGHT YOU ON REFUNDING YOUR MONEY.

Is the price right?
If you want a company that starts off with one package price and then comes back to say "Oh this is the altered price" which is 1,500 more than the first. Then another employee says that guy has no clue what he's doing, your price is actually $20,000 instead of 4,000 but we are having a 50% off sale so its only $10,000. Good luck! If they don't even know their own pricing, they will surely be adding more on as you go!

Barnes Ghostwriters take your money and you get zero.…
Barnes Ghostwriters take your money and when you read the terms they will only give you back 60% if you let them know within an hour. BBB Accredited businesses have been screened by BBB and are held to higher standards for customer service, transparency and ethical business practices. Then why are they on this website when it says Barnes is NOT an acceptable BBB recommended company? The contract Barnes sent said I could cancel at any time and receive full refund. I got nothing back and received no services whatever. Stay away from this company if you do not want to be taken.
