Moeilijke bank.

After dormancy fees in 2019 and 2020 fees they ask proof of residence, full copy of non blocked passport, this and that, self certification form against fraude. I once was an arubian citizen and left some florins on an foreign saving account when i got back to Holland. Well iff any institution is working on a fraude basis i suspect themselves. Not a proof of received mails . You can only reach them by phone. No whatsapp video call, no zoom, no messenger call nothing possible. They never call you but summon you to come at their reception desk in full corona period. Now after the company swift from Ennia to United group Holdings in 2021 they do what they want . Close your account and your card and find out to have your money back. Close all business with them when you still can do this and withdraw your money . This no longer is a reliable financial institution as it was before.

Unfortunately my recent encounters with the bank within the past year have left me with a negative impression, and I believe it is crucial to share my experience for the benefit of others visiting the Island. This month December 2023 I have encountered Banco di Caribe's unauthorized collection of repeated transactions. Despite initiating a one-off PIN transaction at fitness Club Oxygen, the bank continued to debit my account for additional transactions without my consent in the days that followed. They debited $100 on multiple occasions which I did not receive back. Neither the fitness club received any of the unauthorized transactions nor did they initiate them. This lack of transparency and unauthorized activity is concerning and reflects poorly on the bank's commitment to ethical banking practices. Furthermore, I experienced challenges with Banco di Caribbean ATMs, as they failed to dispense money when the machine was out of funds. Which in this instance was more than $50,- which I never received back. This inconvenience not only caused frustration but also highlighted a significant operational flaw in the bank's ATM services. Toward the end of 2022, I had another unsettling experience with Banco di Caribe swipe machines at the Tek Spot Store in Sambil. Despite swiping my card for a transaction, the machine indicated that no transaction had occurred. However, the amount was debited from my account, and the retailer did not receive the funds. Such discrepancies not only impact the customer but also raise questions about the reliability of Banco di Caribe's payment systems. It cost me more than $120,- which I had never received back. What adds to the frustration is the unhelpful and evasive customer service provided by Banco di Caribe. In each instance, when seeking resolution, the bank redirected me to my main bank, and vice versa. This endless cycle of blame-shifting leaves customers in a state of helplessness. Moreover, Banco di Caribe consistently attempts to deflect responsibility, citing reasons such as power outages or subjecting customers to prolonged waiting procedures that ultimately expire, denying them their rightful money. These actions lead me to believe that Banco di Caribe financial challenges, resorting to dishonest practices to generate income. As a foreign consumer, it is disheartening to witness such behavior, especially as it targets unsuspecting tourists who may be unfamiliar with the local banking landscape. In light of these issues, I strongly advise fellow travelers and residents alike to exercise caution when dealing with Banco di Caribe. Prioritize alternative banking options, and if possible, inquire with retailers about their banking affiliations to avoid unnecessary complications. In conclusion, my experience with Banco di Caribe has been marred by unauthorized transactions, ATM inefficiencies, unreliable payment systems and unhelpful customer service, prompting me to discourage others from engaging with this institution. It is my hope that this review serves as a cautionary tale for potential customers, encouraging them to choose a more reliable and customer-oriented banking partner in Curaçao.
