HORRENDOUS ($1000 hr) PRICING! STAY AWAY! After completing a pool remodel I needed to get the pool equipment up and running right away but it wasn't getting power. I called Baker Bros. The tech (Victor) arrived as scheduled later the same day. Upon arrival, he "recommended" a "diagnostic." I'm like, if I knew what the problem was I might not need to call you. He taps into his iPad. The "diagnostic" would cost me $440. I was like seriously? Without even knowing how long it would take? But I felt I had to get it done ASAP. I said ok and he came back 40 min later telling me I needed a new switch and GFCI outlet. So now we are at the repair stage. He taps into his iPad again. My quote to replace the switch and outlet was over $500 (I forget the exact number). I looked at it (see picture). Stupid easy with even the lowest level of skill (buy the parts, turn off the electric, match up the wires). Of course he wouldn't just sell me the switch and outlet. Did it my self in less than 45 minutes which included a 20 min run to Home Depot that cost me $35. In hindsight I doubt it took him anywhere near 40 min to diagnose the problem given what it was. The replacement of a switch and outlet for $500+ was just highway robbery. In sum, no complaint with the actual work performed, but I'm angry at being ripped off. So if you are good with paying close to $1000 AN HOUR IN LABOR for your electrician these are your people. Something fishy about the good reviews on G*****.
