Hi Sunshine, Avvo does not remove questions for marking an attorney's answer as "Not helpful." We do want other consumers to know what answers you found helpful or unhelpful. That being said, the question could have been pulled down by accident. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will be happy to take a look and repost it if it was pulled down in error. All consumer services on our site are free, including posting questions in the Q&A Forum. Avvo provides an open forum for people to leave feedback for attorneys they have hired, consulted, or contacted. But we have checks in place to maintain the quality and validity of reviews. We require users to register before submitting a review, we read every review before it is posted, and we rely on the Avvo community to let us know if a review seems suspicious or incorrect. Hi Stacy, Thank you for your feedback. You posted four reviews for 2 attorneys. All the reviews for both attorneys were negative. One was approved and posted because it met our community guidelines. The other three were denied because they did not. We welcome both negative and positive reviews as long as they are meeting our community guidelines. There are no fees involved in our review system. You are free to resubmit your review. If it meets our terms, whether positive or negative, it will be approved and posted.

Hi Sandy, Consumers receive an email letting them know that the review was disputed, as you mentioned. In the email we ask that consumers verify if they were a client of the attorney. Once we know that we let the consumer know the options available to them. Hi Fred, Thank you for your feedback. I understand your frustration and while the attorneys who participate in our Q&A forum work hard to ensure, "Most questions are answered within a few hours," I apologize if you are still waiting for an answer. We here at Avvo do not answer the questions, the professionals on our website do. So your answer depends on: who is available and who has the best answer for your question. I would advise you resubmit the question, maybe with different wording but same bottom line or search for a professional that specializes in the area in which you are dealing with, and email them directly.

All reviews must meet our community guidelines, which can be found here: https://www.avvo.com/support/community_guidelines The guideline that pertains to your review is listed below: Some situations involve a person paying an attorney's fee without being in a typical attorney-client relationship. Reviews are permitted in such cases where the payor and the client have aligned interests - for example, a parent paying for the representation of a minor child. However, reviews are not permitted where payor and client interests are not aligned, or the attorney is performing the role of a neutral. This most commonly comes up in probate, mediation, arbitration and guardianship matters. You are welcome to post your client review on other websites like Google, Yelp etc. You are also welcome to consider reaching out to the State Bar if you feel that attorney was unethical in any way. The State Bar is set up to look into complaints about attorneys for consumers.
