It’s not as user friendly as other apps but the bracelet gives you an added edge however I had a lot of trouble getting my bracelet to work reliably and found it disappointing for how much it costs. 1/4 nights I am not able to get the bracelet to work which is very frustrating. You also can’t use the app offline so if you live in an area without cell reception then you can’t use the app at all of your wifi goes out to view the calendar or anything you saved in there.

I do find Ava useful however I’m very disappointed with the wristband. Both little band have broken off and it’s starting to rip apart where the hole I use the most is. When I asked for a replacement silicone band they said sorry no can do. Now I have to rig it up with a rubberband. For as expensive as the Ava bracelet is, I would expect it not to fall apart.

By the time a woman is willing to pay $300 for an ovulation tracking bracelet, she has probably been trying to conceive for long enough to seek medical attention. Doctors often prescribe medicine to these women, and Ava does not work on medicated cycles. Therefore, the bracelet is pretty useless to a large percentage of users. Personally, I did four cycles in Clomid, two on Ovidrel, and one on Letrozole and Progesterone before finally getting pregnant. During the first few medicated cycles, I tried wearing Ava, and it added to my stress because the temperatures were so inconsistent with the desired patterns. I stopped wearing Ava a few months before conceiving. However, the Facebook group was a helpful tool, since it allowed me to search the archives for specific situations and get advice.

The concept is nice and it was pretty interesting to see my temps going up and down but I don’t think it’s worth the almost $300 considering the fact that the battery in mine died after only having it for 9 months.

The temperatures and other readings were often inaccurate and made my data unhelpful. I believe it is actually a function of the band which is hard to get snug and broke almost 2 times per week. I noticed the days my temperature would randomly drop were when the bracelet was loosest.

Wearing the Ava was helpful for tracking my physiological symptoms, but ultimately didn’t help with tracking my fertile window and didn’t detect my pregnancy after 6 weeks pregnant. I thought it was helpful as a thermometer but not for much else!
