Not very user friendly. Doesn’t really interpret data. Unhelpful compared to free period tracking apps.

Leider bekomme ich starken Ausschlag am Arm von dem Band, der Kundenservice ist da leider nicht sehr hilfsbereit, das finde ich für den Preis einfach sehr schade.
Response from Ava BraceletOct 1, 2021
I owned the Ava bracelet for a year and a half, using it on and off. The band is the cheapest! The loop broke after a couple of weeks only. Then, the buckle and the strap detached, and when I wrote to the customer service, they had no solution for me other than buying a new device. I wanted to love this, but the bracelet is very poorly made, and not engineering a product to allow replacement of basic parts should not happen in 2021. Also, the synchronization is always difficult, the data is very often off. Waste of money.

I got pregnant after I stopped relying on this bracelet. While it gives good information, it personally did not work for us. We tried about 5 months before I purchased the bracelet with no luck. I thought this bracelet was going to be a game changer. I was wrong. After 5 months of wearing it with no positive test, I switched back to opts and got pregnant. I think if you are going to use it, don’t rely solely on this bracelet. Overall pretty disappointed with the product.

I really liked the features showing you temperature, heartbeat, stress levels etc every day, but ultimately it was very odd at determining my fertile window. After using it for about 11 months I got pregnant and used the ovulation date from Ava to determine my due date. I had used ovulation tests for the first time the month I got pregnant, and tested days 14-20, and the ovulation tests said I never ovulated, even though Ava said I ovulated on day 20. At my first ultrasound, the baby was measuring 7 days ahead, and the doctor said I likely ovulated day 13. The app consistently said I ovulated at day 20, and so probably missed my fertile window entirely for almost a year. Overall the app was helpful in some what’s but ultimately did not help me get pregnant at all. I likely won’t use it next time.

I have purchased ava almost 2 year ago (in January 2019) and have been using it since then. I haven’t got pregnant but this is not due to the app, but to some other medical issues of both myself and my husband. Nevertheless, I would like to describe my experience for other women, especially for those that have tried so many times and are probably frustrated and see ava as a last resort (the way I did at that time, before discovering the medical issues). Actually everything ava tells you, you should already know through reading in articles, using other normal apps and maybe trying out 2-3 months of urine tests. From the beginning I had the impression it did not calculate correctly the ovulation day, it simply splits the cycle in two and maybe increases/decreases with one day the predicted ovulation day. Moreover, although I have inserted months of previous data (eg. length of cycle since 2015), it was not able to actually realize and predict that my cycle has decrease in length, a thing the previous app (a normal smartphone app without any gadget attached to it) was able to predict correctly. So I really give it a big minus to the algorithm. Then the app sometimes gets restarted without a reason and asks me to insert account and password (very inconvenient, when you are in a hurry in the morning and just want to sync your app). Plus, after 1 year the plastic/silicon bracelet broke. I have used a workaround, tying it with a strip and this lasted me one extra year. Plus, the battery is really weird, sometimes it gets charged fast, other times I get some error color on it and need to play around in the app. So big minus to the hardware. The only good function I found was the wake-up alarm. Better than a usual telephone alarm. And also a big plus for customer support: they have always answered to me and recently they have sent me a new product, as replacement for the broken bracelet/strap (I was still within the 2 year guarantee). Shortly said: if you really want to measure your temperature and other elements, why note try some smart watch, that has also other health functions and you can use it during the day. Probably you will find something for a similar price. If you want to track your fertility and cycle better, use normal apps and make basal temperature measurements and urine test. It is a bit more tedious than having everything in one app/gadget but it is much more reliable and it helps you understand your body better. I am very disappointed about ava. With this amount of money they could have definitely created a better hardware device and with the tones of data that they register from all the women, they should have had enough time to adjust your algorithm…
