Easy, but Useless.
I have to be honest - I am pretty let down by the Ava bracelet. It isn't what it's cracked up to be and it certainly isn't worth the price tag. I love that it's simple... just put the bracelet on each night and take it off in the morning. I had a hard time remembering to take my temp before moving in the morning, so this seemed like a great option for me. It was pretty easy to charge as well. I would typically charge it for 30 minutes before bedtime and that was always enough to keep it working all night. It's also pretty comfortable. I'm sensitive and never had trouble sleeping with it. With that being said, the quality of the band is laughably bad. I have been wearing it at night for 4 cycles. Both of the loops intended to hold the excess strap have already broken. I wouldn't expect the rest of the band to hold up a full year and then, the bracelet is useless. The tracking also leaves a lot to be desired. It was consistently wrong, even after tracking my very regular cycle for 4 straight months (I even went in and put 6 months of previous data into the app to help it along). It would mark my ovulation (which I confirm with CM + OPK strips) as off every month - sometimes by even as much as a week. I think part of this was because the syncing feature fails regularly, meaning that the app is consistently missing valuable data. Probably the most frustrating feature is that it does not take OPK data into account in the app. The app should be able to use BOTH biometric data and OPK results to make a more accurate guess re: fertility. At this point, I'm wearing my Ava, using other period tracker apps, following CM, and taking OPK test trips - and the only method consistently getting it wrong is the Ava. Yes... it's easy to use, but what good is that if it doesn't do what it's supposed to?
