On August 18, 2025, I had the pleasure of having an interview with Zach Feldman of the Global Book Network. Talking with Zach was like chatting with a friend who appreciated not only the book, Musings for Madie, but also, me. Initially, Charlotte Ellis at Atticus Publishing reached out to do a televised interview to share my story and the book's message that is already touching so many lives. She encouraged me to talk with Vera Estelle about doing the interview and preparing for the live televised event. They have been wonderful in continuing to promote the book with press releases in numerous publications.

When I contacted Atticus, I knew very little about publishing. I wanted to publish my first book. I had worked long and intensely on it. I had been formulating and contemplating this book for 25 years. The full concept congealed in my mind about 3 years ago and I seriously put pen to paper understanding that a book must result. Atticus wasn’t the only self publishing company I contacted. I talked to several. Many eliminated themselves by aggressively becoming pests. At Atticus I talked to Chris about my project: a non fiction book that I categorized as a social/ geopolitical work. Chris was persistent but non aggressive and actually had an interest in what I was trying to accomplish. I finally decided on Atticus and signed a contract. I had a few uncommon requests of Atticus during the editing process which lengthened it quite a bit. Specifically, I didn’t want my manuscript edited by AI, being concerned that some AI is open source and my original ideas and coined terms might be made known to the world before they would be protected by copyright. This process was tedious and made a little frustrating by what could only be explained as software glitches on Word between IOS and PC software. Chris and Samantha, my main contacts, continued to be professional thorough and patient. Once through the editing process, a cover was developed and marketing ideas were discussed. I opted in on some and out on others listening to their advice and not really knowing if my decisions were sound. I now see in hindsight that their advice was accurate and based on real experience. I have been impressed with the Social Media department, led by Kortney . It was apparent that they had thoroughly read my book, not an easy read, and developed very good material for video and carousels that have proved very effective in the pre-launch marketing campaign. The proof being that my book, The Global Public Estate, reached #1 on Amazon’s best sellers list in 3 categories. I resigned an extended contract to take me several months past the launch date. Overall, I believe that Atticus was a very good choice, very professional and well managed. I thank everyone on the team for the work they have done.
