My wife got this for my birthday (per my hints). I loved this thing. A few days in I realized that the mobile and desktop apps wouldn’t work even though I had the approved firmware, software, and computer components. I reached out to “customer support”. They took forever to get back to me and they gave me a non answer…. “Check out our FAQ page on our website”… yeah… I had already done that. Then the device became unresponsive after 24 days of having it in hand. I tried everything on FAQ and reached out to them. They took their sweet time to run out the 30 day warranty. THIS IS A SCAM, THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD! Don’t buy anything Artiphon. If it was $40 I’m be bummed. It’s roughly $100 so this is a SCAM. You will not get any customer / company support and they’re hard to research.

I bought an Orba on kickstarter and there was a lot of delay in delivery even considering the pandemic. The communication was very bad giving me off and saying things that were not true, such as that it was already sent, when it was not real, another thing was that the private buyers had their Orba before the project sponsors. Another question is that I have sent several messages to ask for the shirt that I pay in the pack that I sponsor and I am still waiting for the shirt and the answers. I don't think I buy anything else from Artiphon.

I ordered my Orba when it was first listed on Kickstarter. We was supposedly sent to me but I never received it. It was to be delivered around Feb 16. It was returned because DHL said there was no phone number. I was told by DHL that it was going to be delivered by the Post Office. That never took place. Instead, it was turned over to a delivery service that never contacted me because they did not have my phone number. I have written numerous emails to Artiphon but so far that issue has not been resolved.

It pains me to do this because I reckon Artiphon are struggling, but I can't seem to get any response. I backed the Orba on Kickstarter and received it much earlier (over 5 months ago) than the many outstanding backers who still haven't received theirs. Unfortunately it had a very loud vibration motor - quite hard to make music when all you can hear is buzz buzz buzz every time you touch any buttons. I emailed them September 13th with a video demonstrating the problem. They replied October 8th "This is a known issue happening with some Orbas. I'm going to turn your ticket over to [colleague] who can help you process a return/replacement." Hearing nothing further, I chased on November 11th. I received a reply on November 25th "We [...] are expecting warranty replacement shipments to start rolling out at the end of next week. We'll send out tracking numbers as soon as we have them" Hearing nothing further again, I chased on January 22nd and February 15th. Then yesterday I received a prompt to rate Artiphon on TrustPilot, so here we are. 5 months since I complained, 4 months since they promised me a replacement, 3 months since any contact from them at all. I like to think I'm a relaxed and forgiving individual, and I understand that there's a global pandemic happening. My experience with the Orba itself is that it is basically what I backed the Kickstarter for. It's a lot of fun and does what I expected, and if it didn't have the flaw I'd be very happy with it. But I'm probably not going to purchase from Artiphon again, despite them making really interesting musical instruments, simply because of this customer service.

I have been lied to for more than 2 weeks by this company! From the moment I ordered there has been no info about whats going on with the orba I ordered! At the week mark I emailed their pr department just hoping for an update I got an email 2 days later saying my order had been put through fror the weekend and thanking me for my patients. I am now 4 days after the weekend I was told it was "pushed through" and 3 days after the 2 week I was told it would take the first time!! we have sense emailed them again to no response at all!!! Just cause the company sucks at dealing with customers in no way discredits their ability to make what looks like an amazing instrument. I love what they have made and the work they put into it is astounding and truly to be recognized! Having said that DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THE COMPANY!!!!!!! send your money to GUITAR CENTER ZZSOUNDS or anothey other music store you trust

I got my kickstarter Orba way too late. Weeks after I bought another one online. About the same price. The software is very bad (no save/load). Not suitable for serious stand-alone use. It can be used as a midi controller via a USB-cable. But there are better and cheaper solutions for that. Artiphon constantly promises improvement. Nothing. I wouldn't buy it until Artiphon has the software in order ... PS: Yes, this is Artiphon's standard response. Translation: - temporary = 4 months already - it's our top priority = apart from selling cool stuff with bad software without a decent warning - we are perfecting this feature = not possible because it is no longer there.

Backed them on kickstarter for the Orba. It's been over a year now and I still didn't receive anything. They are now selling the product in the shops where I live. I asked them for my money back in a chat on facebook, they pasted multiple pre-prepared texts to me. Messages below if you care to read them. My advice, just avoid them. Their kickstarter was a sham, and the final product doesn't live up to expectations from what I have been reading on the forums. === me === Hi artiphon, I'm one of your Orba backers. The Orba I ordered didn't arrive in Switzerland as of yet. This is rather frustrating because I could actually get one in the shops here now. I can cancel my "backer" order and get a refund as it seems like you just can't deliver to me at all. === them === Hi, I can understand how frustrating it must be to see Orba in stores when you haven't received your pledge yet. We will be addressing this in a backer update that will be posted early this week along with some shipping updates for backers in Switzerland. However, while I have you here I can let you know that your order is out for pick/pack and will be leaving the warehouse soon. That coupled with the disappointment of seeing how the whole campaign has turned out has just soured the whole thing for me. Unfortunately, we can't grant refunds on Kickstarter pledges. Please understand that we are an early-stage company and the pledges raised through Kickstarter provide much-needed funding to continue to keep the lights on for daily operations. Kickstarter is not a store in a typical sense, and your pledge is a commitment to support the project. I hope this clarifies things a bit, and I hope you understand our position. We really value and appreciate your support.

Backed kickstarter project. No email, no information bout when the Orba will be send out. No update, no feedback
