Brad, Our kits are made to do exactly what happened that night to your wife, make the door a pain to gain entry to. Think about how a intruder would feel coming into this situation with limited time and resources than your wife and neighbors had, the intruder would not be happy. Stella, We are sorry to hear about your community's misfortunes but are pleased to know you are taking the necessary steps to protect yourself. Surprisingly, a lot of people don't understand how easy it is to gain unlawful entry through a sliding door. The sliding door can be lifted out of it's tracks and removed fairly easy. The Armor Latch was designed to prevent this. Dean, We strive to make all of our products as universal as possible but there will always be a door that will not have the most satisfactory of installs. When dealing with concrete, we found using 3-1/2" tapcon screws will penetrate concrete better. If you have windows on the side of the door, than you will need to use our Sidelight Reinforcement kits for installs. These kits are especially made to accommodate sidelight doors.
