book came out great

The team at Archway has been great in assisting me with publishing my first book, Getaway Home, a guided travel journal. I have a much better understanding of how the publishing world works now.

The communication for the first few months of this project was pitiful. Once I was switched to another point of contact, it improved, but my progress was delayed by a month.

The finished product, my book, is well done. But the time between submitting a finished manuscript and putting the book into print was excessive (the completed manuscript was submitted almost 9 months before the May 8 publication date. At the same time the fulfillment process for Archway is expensive and slow. When the book was published I simultaneously ordered copies from Amazon and Archway - Amazon delivered in one day - Archway charged me delivery charges AND the book has still has not been delivered.

Really great customer service. Was only disappointed in the e-book version in which font size was not changed on title page causing it to "flow" across pages. When I've self-published on Amazon, I compensated for this and never had a problem. Sorry, but this is sloppy. Otherwise, great experience.

It's essential to acknowledge that Archway is run by author solutions, which doesn't have an excellent track record. However, that being said, if you aren't a known commodity and have a book you want to publish. Archway is still an excellent option for those unfamiliar with the process and needing a company that can do the vast majority of the labor. The people I worked with were friendly, helpful, and relatively understanding of my needs. Be prepared if unprepared; they can nickel and dime you into debt. If you can handle some of the work yourself, for example, designing the cover or editing, then do it yourself or look for a third party to assist. I am incredibly pleased with the final result of my own book. And I hope this review helps you decide for yourself moving forward.

I found that they were very responsive whenever I had any questions or concerns. The only thing I’d say needs some help, is the concierge should be informed as to the extra charge of editing a manuscript.
