There is often spotty phone coverage, especially in Ramat Beit Shemesh, with frequent dropped calls. The 012 exchange did save the numbers on my rented blackberry. You have to redo the numbers each time you call to get the free service. The phone often used 972 plus the israeli number to place calls I purchased the US number however call forwarding of my number to my israeli cell could not be done in the US. Spoke with Verizon IT support 5 times. Therefore I did not use what I paid for. Would advise that you get a different carrier other than 012 and research the call forwarding issue.

The phone worked well when it worked and I think I got a good price. Unfortunately a few days before the end of the trip it was not longer able to make either international or local calls, though the texting functionality remained. I tried to email the "contact us" email address but I got a bounce back saying that it was no longer a working email address.

Once overseas and the charging port of the phone didn't work AMIGO did not respond to my emails promptly to get me a new phone. It was fine because I was with a group so wheneve rI was alone I would turn on my phone and otherwise it would be off. But what if I was traveling alone and it would have died in a few days without being able to be charged. Last time using amigo!

Emily, I am terribly sorry that you had a bad experience. We were going through some changes at that time which resulted in our general lack of availability. We have hired additional staff to make sure that this never happens again, Were you offered a refund?

Shipping was $20, disclosed up front. I sent back a perfectly good working charger that was not the original charger, and was charged $15. Minutes were cheap, but the extra charges made this phone very expensive for the little I used it.

I was not to disappointed but there were a few issues with the phone service that could have been prevented. I am not sure if I would use them again, the customer service was fine but the phone product. Not as much...

What's good about this company is that they mail you the phone to take with you on the trip so that you don't need to hassle with renting one at the airport. I had the phone about a month and about 3 weeks into the trip the phone stopped working and from then on would only work on a hit and miss basis. I also rented a wifi hot spot for the month. Sometimes it worked well and other times it was so slow it was unusable. However, I'd probably use this company again and give them another try.

The unit is advertised as unlimited data when in fact after 4 GB I was slowed/throttled down to an unusable level. I was barely able to send an email retrieve anything or use a computer. So it's far from Unlimited. If your a heavy user, get a wifi hot spot. But be clear what you are getting
