it started from when i went to pick up the phones. nothing was ready both times i went to pick them up after they told me it would be. ended up having waiting 30 minutes to get the phone. then they gave me the wrong device so i had to wait again to get it. ordered a mifi that said unlimited wifi. really it was 10 gb (it only mentions the 10gb cap on the order page in small print) because the low speed after 10 gb was not working at all. also got emails that i didn't return the phones after everything was returned

I had a good experience three years ago with this phone and service, so I went with it again, same country. However, this time it was a debacle. The phone/service was not available on arrival in the country for which service was contracted. There appeared to be a report of lost phone, and the calls I made to the posted number for service help would not go through because "The phone is reported lost." It took a lot of effort and ingenuity to get the problem resolved, not what I needed when I had phone calls to make on arrival at my destination. Bummer! And, the service turned out to be more expensive than expected/advertized. There appeared to be a whole bunch of calls already in the phone's memory bank so who knows for what I paid. and there's a $10 fee for forward and $10 fee for return shipment of the device. I would have been better off upgrading my regular cell phone service for use in the foreign country. Amigo, you're no longer my friend.

Little support if something goes wrong. Upon arrival my SIM did not work, and it required multiple calls and e-mails to finally get support to handle the issue, resulting in 6+ days without SIM.

I found that the wifi device option is not really practical as the power is drained very quickly when it's used in the manner of piggy backing off your existing phone. I would recommend either renting an actual separate phone or a sim card for an unclocked phone.

Was told per day and then was bill a minimum of 7 days even though I only needed 6 days. The $10 shipment charge each way is too high.

The blackberry was very old and didn't work properly. The cell service wasn't always reliable either

I am usually satisfied with Amigo service, and recommend it readily to all my friends and associates when they travel, but this last trip using Amigo was exceptionally disappointing. I run a business in New York, and have always had adequate service with Amigo. During my last visit, service was spotty, and I constantly lost calls. The sound/reception of voice calls was excedingly poor, almost inaudible, even with the volume high and my moving to a private, silent location. I have been receiving the same, old brick phone, that technologically dates back over fifteen (15) years! I cannot continue to travel with these phones, if I am to successfully keep in contact with my business and clientele.

So I got an SD card for my smart phone. Supposed to have unlimited data, txt and calls. What I got was just the ability to call. I called Verizon before I left and they said it would work on my phone. I then checked with Amigo US and they said it would with my phone. Well got to my destination and nope data and txt do not work just calls. Now I have to pay for everything. Amigo US says I should have checked to see if it worked with my phone before I left. So when you call or email you will get someone who will say anything and they probably don't keep records of calls. Also the directions they send with phone or SD card is limited at best. Apparently you have to be fluent in international calls and what to dial to call out of a country...do some homework by searching the internet before you leave. If you do contact Amigo be very explicit in your question.
