American Web Den Lawsuit Fraud
In March 2026 I hired American Web Den to design logos and websites for my two practices, Marin County Therapist and Marin Ketamine Therapy Center. I paid $2,088 up front for their Professional Website Package and a three-month SEO package. In June they sold me a five-year prepaid hosting plan for another $3,185.33. As of October 2026, neither website has launched. The design work was not professional quality. Over six rounds of logo concepts between April and September, I got generic, stock-looking marks with a name typed beside them. The website samples were template layouts. They showed no understanding of how a licensed psychotherapy practice or a ketamine clinic should present itself to patients, or of the ethical limits on how licensed providers can market themselves. I raised these concerns from the first round, in writing and by phone. I ended up doing the creative direction myself. Instead of proposing ideas, the team kept asking me to find reference sites, critique each concept, and specify colors and fonts. I sent them my own logo ideas for both practices. The one logo I approved was built around a brain design I created and sent to them myself. I hired a design firm so I wouldn’t have to art-direct one. The delays were theirs. When I complained, the company blamed my knee surgery, and my father’s death was the cause of their delays. Those caused short gaps in my replies, not six months without usable work. They also said the websites couldn’t be built until a logo was final. Any competent studio builds page structure, copy, and layout while a logo is being finished, and they had already produced a mock-up without one. I paid for things that couldn’t have happened. Three months of SEO, including keyword rankings, blog posts, and press releases, were billed for websites that never existed. I’m also paying for five years of hosting for sites that were never launched. I would not recommend American Web Den based in Bakersfield, Kern County. Their company address is a Po Box at Post Net a chain retailer focused on business services including printing, copying & shipping, located at 6077 Coffee Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93308. When I requested a full refund, they denied my request. Therefore, I have filed a complaint with the following government agencies: the California Attorney General, the Kern County DA, the Consumer Fraud Unit, Marin County DA, the Consumer Protection Unit, the Federal Trade Commission for charging tax on a non-taxable service, the Better Business Bureau, and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. I am also filing a lawsuit against American Web Den, their creative director, Christopher Hayes, and their Senior Compliance Officer, Steve Lynch. This company has no creative talent and is unethical.
