As of the end of October 2022, during the ALTS 1 fund's first 6 months of performance, the fund was down approximately 7%. While we would have preferred to have a positive return, the fund's return compares favorably to the S&P 500's return over the same period of a negative 16% (April - October 2022). We feel the fund held up well in a difficult investing environment and demonstrates that the thesis of the fund is valid. In addition, the fund is advertised as an 8 to 10 year hold period so we feel investors should focus on the long-term performance over multiple year periods. The current market environment presents many compelling investment opportunities in attractively valued assets and we believe our initial purchases in the fund will set the fund up for long-term success.
