Thank you so much Yash. It has been a real pleasure coaching the kids. They are keen learners, they have a great attitude, they are very polite and well mannered, and it's wonderful to see how quickly they've caught on to the nuances of the game.

Akshay is a very patient and an encouraging mentor. He pays undivided attention to his students during class. Hridaan has benefitted from his teaching techniques and learnt many new chess skills. I wish him all the very best always.

Many thanks. I have greatly enjoyed coaching and playing with Hridaan. He was certainly no beginner when he first came to me. He had the basics all covered, and he was skilled in the game. I have tried to expose him to newer aspects of the game, like openings that he hadn't played before, and tricky chess puzzles. He has proved to be a good learner. When we play games, I have to play at my very best, because he is a strong competitor, and can easily punish his opponents for playing weak moves. I wish him all the very best, and I see a lot of promise in the young man! He is also a polite and well-brought up individual, and it is a pleasure to interact with him.

I went to Akshay as a total novice in chess. From day 1, he has been ready with a game plan (pun unintended), what he wanted to teach me for the day - a healthy mix of puzzles, opening positions, matches etc. Despite my very slow progress, he is very patient, doesn't hesitate to teach repeatedly and is very helpful. Just the right mix of knowledge, kindness and professionalism that one needs to learn anything new. Thanks a lot Akshay.

Thanks for the kind words Sujatha. I disagree with one point though - you weren't a total novice when you started; you knew the basics, and what's more, you were sharp enough to calculate things even when you were seeing a position for the first time. I am impressed by the thoroughness of your play, because you try and look at all aspects of what the opponent can move. Also, I've noticed the progress you've made in your accuracy and your speed. Keep it up!

Akshay is a sincere coach. He genuinely enjoys the interaction with young kids and invests his energy to ensure the learning experience is a pleasant one for that age group.

Many thanks Sanjay. I have enjoyed teaching both kids. Given their age difference, they are at different levels so I've had to teach them separately and not together, but it has been a pleasure. They are both enthusiastic about the game, and are learning well.

Akshay has a friendly but a very professional approach to his coaching sessions. His coaching methodology is simple & very easy to grasp even for beginners. He has a way of putting his wards at ease so that it's not a typical coach -Student session .but more of 2 players . He teaches a variety of styles which makes his sessions all the more interesting. Flexible in his timings to suit his wards time His sessions are very affordable. Last but not the least a thorough gentleman who never days 'not to any request.

Thank you very much Yogesh. I have enjoyed my sessions with your daughter. When I took her first class, I realized how sharp she was, and I could tell she was anything but a beginner. She just needed some help in fine tuning her game, and in learning some technical aspects and positional play. I have enjoyed doing that with her, and I am so proud to say that she is a keen learner and a very pleasant demeanoured girl.

Akshay has been teaching Freya chess now for approximately 7 classes. He is a very patient teacher and has done a great job exciting Freya about chess. I think this stems from his genuine interest in chess and teaching kids. It’s not a commercial transaction. What’s been great to see is how he has slowly built her skills class on class and crated genuine curiosity for chess.

Thanks so much! Freya has been a keen learner. When I took her trial class 3 months ago, she barely knew the rules. Now after having done 10 classes, I find she is able to deal with tricky puzzles. That shows what a sharp young lady she is, and how keen a learner she has been. All the very best to her!

I have found Akshay to be an excellent coach for my 7 year old son. Coaching a jumpy and distracted kid virtually is no mean feat! I have found Akshay to be patient, engaging and encouraging. He keeps the class interesting. I think the fact that he is has a similar aged child of his own helps him to relate much better and understand the child’s psychology. He is also quite generous with his time - I have noticed that he does not end a game abruptly or rush the child even when the time is up. He always completes the game and explains the moves, asks why the child chose a certain move, probes the child to think of a better move. My son enjoyed the class, but we noticed that his attention span was lower, so when I suggested that Akshay cut the length of the class, he was receptive to it and tailored the class accordingly. Overall an excellent experience that I would recommend without hesitation.

Many thanks Shruti! I have greatly enjoyed teaching your little one. As you've rightly said, my son is the same age, so that probably helps me understand him better. All the best to him!
