AIFS Richmond in Rome I thought that my experience with AIFS was excellent and I really enjoyed it. My only suggestion for future years is to have better communication. Starting out, I thought that the initial pre-departure packet was informative but there was no information after that before departure until the week before. Receiving flight plans and other itinerary plans earlier would have been nice. Also, while abroad, I thought that communication could have been improved around activities. Some of the activities were very interesting but I was unsure what they entailed and what I needed to do in order to sign up. I would have liked more communication explaining what each activity was.

I had an incomparably great experience in Athens, Greece this past semester. It was so enlightening to live in a different country, and learn in a different school system. I loved the rich history of Athens and the beautiful beaches of the Greek islands. It was so much fun and helped me grow as a person tremendously.

The overall program was good, I cannot give five stars though based on little things that occured. The staff did their job but we're sometimes overbearing. More often it was better for me to go out and figure stuff out, which should be apart of study abroad. Too many times they presented themselves as having all the answers when they didn't. I had a great time though and would still recommend the program.

I am so glad that I studied abroad with AIFS! I learned so much both through the class and through the extracurricular activities that I had the opportunity to go on. I had the opportunity to go to Dublin, which has become my new favorite city! I met awesome people, and all of the professors that worked with us were very knowledgeable and kind. The only issue I had with the program was that it was a bit disorganized--there were two days that we were given incorrect information for scheduling, and that did cause some issues. However, overall it was a great experience!

My experience studying abroad was one of the most fulfilling experiences i’ve ever endured. I learned so much about life, nature, and myself doing this. There were times where I did want to go home, but I remembered why it is I wanted to do this. My homestay experience was great as well. My “mama tica” and I had a good relationship. Doing this helps you grow so much. Because of studying abroad, I want to travel so much more and learn so much from different cultures. If I could do this again I would!

I had a wonderful time studying abroad with AIFS. The staff was incredible friendly and knowledgeable, and they planned great excursions for my program. Additionally, my course was taught by a very knowledgeable instructor, and I came back with more than just knowledge on the subject, but also a new lens to view the world.

Very well organized, and the staff was very nice and helpful. Homestay was a little weird only because she spoke zero english. Class from 9am-2pm everyday was kind of exhausting but professors were overall good and nice.

The Aifs experience was amazing and I would do it all over again if I could a little differently. I wish I knew before going into the program that the people you live with will most likely be the people you spend the most time with and make travel plans with. I chose the student hotel without realizing that I was limiting my friends from the start. All the girls that lived in the apartments got to spend a lot more time together, cook dinner together and go on trips because they were able to make plans easier and it was convenient. A lot of girls I lived with wanted to save money and not travel and I ended up going everywhere with only one person rather than a group. It was still a lot of fun but my options were limited. Otherwise I wish everyone was closer rather than a metro or long walk away. I had surgery on my spine three weeks before going abroad and I did not expect so much walking, which was my own problem because I refused to stay home after surgery. But the school is not that close so it was sort of an inconvenience. I wish the program told students to meet up at certain bars throughout the week to meet other students, there were a lot of options. So it was hard finding kids in your own program when everyone spreads out. So a program based after school drinking time or something would be cool.
