Studied abroad twice through AIFS. I wouldn’t have been able to afford to go if it wasn’t for them. The program is really flexible and they provide a lot of bang for your buck, especially compared to other programs. The locations the program chooses for housing are absolutely ideal. There’s also a lot of fun cultural excursions that are included. I’ve never had any problems with classes or transferring credits to my actual college. Overall great experience.

I absolutely LOVED my semester in Salzburg, Austria this past fall. I loved our location, and the fact that it allowed for all the independence you wanted, but was also there to support you if needed. My only issues were ones that were relatively small. Firstly, one of the staff members during my time there was frankly a bit annoying, and slightly unprofessional. They allowed me to go on an excursion without my passport (even though I said I didn't have it before we left, and that I would completely understand if I couldn't go, it was my fault for forgetting) as they assured me this would be fine. We were then pulled over at the German border and I was faced with telling the customs officer myself that I did not have my passport as the staff member looked at me blankly and said "they need your passport" knowing full well that I did not have it. They really left me to fend for myself in the one moment I actually needed them. Also, I found the group trips to be somewhat disappointing and disorganized. Tours were NEVER what they promised to be. Overall though, I wouldn't change a thing and would do it all again if given the chance. Made some of the best friends!

Most things were covered and I didn't have to worry about anything when I got there. They did tell us to make sure we had money for extra stuff. Only thing that would be difficult is the payment is due before scholarships are recieved. They still worked around but it definitely isn't for those who can't afford it before scholarships. Other than that I found nothing wrong with it.

I'm so happy that I decided to study abroad with AIFS. I did a January term so I ended up spending way more time in class than I would've liked to. That being said, the class was super interesting and took place all over Paris so it wasn't the worst. I made some great friends and if I had the chance I would do it again.

My experience abroad was pretty amazing with AIFS. When we landed in London it was a little confusing because there was one guy with us the whole weekend from AIFS and our rooms weren’t ready to be checked into until later which was annoying but they were ok, would have preferred a different location. Regardless, London was very fun and I made many of my friends during that trip. The senester in Granada was amazing. My host family was pretty good but there was a mix up about food. I don’t eat meat and they thought I ate chicken. My host mom didn’t always buy the best food for us to eat towards the end and she was never there on the weekends. But she was really great and our apartment was very big. A downside was having bunk beds but we made it work. When it came to clases they were pretty hard. I struggled to be able to keep up with work at times but my teachers were always willing to help. I learned a lot of Spanish and improved it a lot. Noelia and Edu are AMAZING and made being in another country so easy. I miss granada soooo much and am so thanful for my study abroad experience.
