My money was wasted on a part which was supposed to be OM
When I searched online at Adsitco for a difficult part (an electric power window regulator for my 42 year old Mercedes), a beautiful car which I have spent a great deal of money and time. I was on their online chat with "Joe," verifying every number , VIN, model, chasis, OE part number, part name; and was assured they had the part and it is new and original. $168.00 approximately (including shipping). I received the part. The part WAS NOT an original Mercedes part, but an aftermarket part made in Italy. My mechanic did not want to install it because he only deals with original parts. I then went to another Mercedes shop specializing in Mercedes cars from the 1960's on up. They removed the door panel of my car and told me the part (sold by Adsitco) was incompatible with my model car. So, I have spent over $20.00 to have Adsitco ship this part to me. I have spent $68.00 to have my door panel removed by another Mercedes shop. I have spent another $23.00 to ship the part back to Adsitco. The price of the part was $149.00. My total refund: just over $111.00. One individual named "Michael," actually hung up on me because, I guess, he spent a little time searching for a used part and I decided not to go with it. I deal with and have dealt with many businesses throughout the years. If a business makes a mistake, the business should bend over backwards to please the customer. Adsitco should have refunded my shipping both ways and FULLY credited my return. The person I spoke with actually said "we made a mistake," but nothing was done to correct it and no apology was offered. And, yes, I DID read the "Return Agreement," that is why I spent so long with customer service online and sending emails BEFORE I ordered. This is not a way to expand your customer base. Very dissatisfied with my experience!
