If I could give this company a "0" I…
If I could give this company a "0" I would. I made an attempt to locate via Trustpilot, "Adams Homes of North Carolina", but was unsuccessful, so I'm leaving my review on this page. TURN AROUND - DO NOT PURCHASE ANY HOME FROM ADAMS HOMES OF NORTH CAROLINA! Similar to issues w/ homeowners out of Northwest Florida, sadly is repeated from my experience using Adams Homes to purchase my 2nd home. These homes may look cute, pretty and adorable from the outside, but as soon as I closed on this home, less than "3-weeks" I began experiencing issues surrounding my electrical sockets. When I submitted a request to their warranty center to have their electrician come out to service my electrical outlets, I was informed that "electrical issues" weren't under the warranty. Yes! This blew my mind, b/c I explained to their personnel that I'd only been in my home for only 3-weeks, it hadn't even been an full 30days (1-month). To add more of a bitter taste for this Builder and it's contractors is that, while this home was being built, as I observed the building from the very beginning to the completion, b/c I would fly out from Texas, as well as was shown live videos from my realtor. Nonetheless, when I noticed a very large oversized oak tree that was seated so close to the back side end of the home, I inquired about the tree to my Realtor Agent who said she was going to forward my concern to the Foreman on site; I continued to inquire and remind of my concern surrounding that tree being too close to the home. I even explained further of my concern, my fear of the tree falling onto my home and on me, as this tree was adjacent to my masterbedroom. I further explained of a situation that my parents had involving their home in Texas. My parents purchased a used home in 1982, and around 2016 -2018 my parents began having plumbing issues b/c the tree that was in their front yard, it's roots began to grown into & around my parents plumbing, as well as actually "split" my parents house. Yes, split my parents house - my parents livingroom walls are split, and b/c they're seniors living on a senior income, they're not in any position to have their home repaired. However, I was able to ask my handyman/landscapping guy to cut down the tree as well as remove the roots that was causing the damage to my parents home. I explained all of this to my Realtor and to the Foreman. I never received a response from Adams Homes Foreman regarding my concern to have that one tree removed until I'd already sold my home in Texas, and it was 2 days before closing on this home in NC - that is when I was informed by Adams Homes Foreman that the builder told him that, I could remove the tree once I closed on the home. This was a slap in the face b/c I don't believe this foreman ever brought my concerns to the Builder, instead, I believe in order to save Adams Homes from having to dish out more money, that was this Forman's response. Since my request to have this "1" tree removed, I'm having to go to another area of my home during heavy rainstorms, due to my fear of this tree falling and killing me while I'm sleeping in my bed. If that isn't enough, as a disabled veteran who is 100% Permanent and Total disabled, I've been to the VA ER as well as to my local hospital ER, at least 3 times, due to my service-connected anxiety/panic attacks (worrying about that tree), as well as for my Chronic Bronchitis being triggered, and recent vertigo episode. During my most recent ER visit I was provided an allergy test due to my service-connected Chronic bronchitis of which the test revealed that I'm allergic to all trees and grass. And as such, these trees produce heavy amounts of leaves, pollen, and organic debris that have created an ongoing and serious health issue for me, due to suffering with chronic respiratory conditions due to being exposed to the burn pit during my deployment in Iraq, as well as severe environmental allergies. Exposure to tree pollen, leaf mold, and yard debris frequently triggers bronchitis flare-ups and breathing complications. Therefore, due to my medical conditions, I am physically unable to safely perform yard maintenance, including leaf removal or tree-related cleanup. Sadly, what began as a safety concern to have 1-tree removed, as resulted in now needing all 4 trees removed. I've have recently sent Adams Homes sales, and marketing an email addressing my tree concerns, and to date, no one has responded to even provide me w/ a list of local resources of tree removal companies who could possibly provide full assistance or assist w/ a discounted rate to remove my trees. Adams Homes Builder and this particular Foreman of whom have been known to "Lie" to other neighbors, as well do not provide good home structure or services, let alone their affiliates who promote their businesses thru Adams Homes. RUN FAST!
